Supporting Mental Health & Wellbeing In Esports

Maybe like this player, playing has become more stressful than fun. Even though you are trying your hardest when playing, your mental health and stress levels just seem to negatively impact your gameplay or stop you from even wanting to turn the game on. Perhaps this is because of issues in your personal life or with teammates, or you could even feel fine on the game but feel lost once you've turned the PC off.

If you experience any of these mental challenges, don't worry, this is what the majority of esports players, coach and streamers go through even though it's not spoken about. Fortunately, you are in the right place if you'd like support with your mental health and wellbeing. From working at the professional level in esports for the past three years, I've helped hundreds of players, coaches and streamers to enhance their mental health and wellbeing to live happier and more satisfying lives inside and outside their game. So if you are struggling, you don't need to suffer alone. There are professionals like myself who can and want to help you with your mental health.

Supporting Performance In Esports

Whilst improved mental health and wellbeing can improve your performance levels, especially in the long-term, if you believe the mental challenge you have is a specific performance issue (e.g., managing TILT), then I encourage you to reach out to Callum Abbott, another experienced Sport Psychologist working in Esports, who specialises in mental skills for performance enhancement. You can find Callum's website here: Abbott Sport Psychology | Psychology and Performance
